In Kenya one of our National languages is swahili and there is an old saying that says, " ukitaka cha mvunguni sharti uiname" In English it simply means "if you wish for what is underneath you must bend to pick it".

This blog is a creation so that all Patriotic Kenyans willing and able to participate in the transformation of the Kenya we have today to a Kenya we wish for in the future come together to share ideas and to forge a more closer and humble reality of what we the citizens can do or offer to help meet our personal and national goals.

Hence the name inaama, fashioned along the thoughts of the great American leader and President J.F Kennedy and also echoed recently http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/archive/200904/20090421.html by our very own Dr. Wangari Maathai in a recent interview she had with Tavis Smiley. JF Kennedy once said "Do not ask your country what it should do for you ask yourself what you should do for your country". Kenyans that must be our attitude going forward.

History has shown that the very transformation of a country belongs to its citizenry, examples are abound, from Asia we have India, Pakistan in Europe we have France and in West we have USA, Cuba and many others around the globe. Even in pre-colonial Africa we have many of the African Countries agitating for change and eventually succeeding.

In Kenya and Africa today, its a growing concern that the citizenry are happy to "elect" representatives i hesitate to call some of them leaders, and once we do elect them we go ahead and practice persive participation in our own affairs, we condemn them in our homes offices and anywhere we group ourselves, our media escalates the same and we go ahead and buy this and call it news. We must transform this state of affairs and become a party to our nations survival beyond just carrying out our day to day vocations. In the other extreme we also have those who lack creativity in their quest to trasform the state of a affairs and they go about having blanket condemnation of the entire representation and hence bringing down the morale of would be leaders.

I am also strongly against wholesome condemnation of our representatives but this blog is more about addressing the lesseiz faire attitude of the Citizenry that has brought Africa and Kenya in particular to its current challenges.

Its my humble opinion that this can and will be transformed. Only if we as citizens play our patriotic role, our citizens role. We must recognise that we have the mandate passed on from our forefathers and that the generation of now must safeguard the future generation.

We owe the next generation a part of what we can curve for them as their destiny. We must come together now or forever be blamed as the generation that refused to "inaama" and safeguard our nationhood and our beloved country.

This blog is meant to dialogue and bring out the how. As a citizen i know that my fellow kenyans are blessed with various skills and talents. Be it your ability to do any of this with full responsibility and humility write, speak, action and rally the good citizens where you maybe, the time is now and the person is you.

I have registered this blog as a first step in bringing together like minded kenyans and Africans who can help us in achieving a greater nation and with that a greater Africa and World.

I humbly ask you to be a part of this blog, try us much to bear one thing in mind, the answer comes from you. No longer can we lay blame in the representatives we elect, we must take our place in transforming our nation.

The work has already begun in many fronts, Leaders like Dr. Patrick Lumumba in his show on KBC moving the masses,Dr. Wangari Maathai on her speaches and books The challenge for Africa and many more whom i may not be aware of.... lets share and trasform what we can.

Let us join and become the leaders for this generation and safeguard what we can. We the citizens and must lead from wherever we are.

We must feel the pain and the loss of glory everytime we sink further and further from the dream of the Kenya we know we must become. Our Children are watching, our forefathers are watching,
